Post 20: Along the River Po / Lungo Il Po
One of busiest and most beautiful parks in Torino is Parco Valentino. However, (in my opinion) the most beautiful park in Torino is just across the river. The lesser known “Parco Lungo Po” is secluded and has a great view over the Po River. It also has a wide variety of trees, a bike path, a playground, a few scattered tennis courts, plenty of space for a picnic and a giant old climbable tree.

Uno dei parchi più belli e frequentati di Torino è sicuramente il Parco del Valentino; ma subito al di là del fiume Po si trova quello che a parer mio è il più bello fra tutti. Il meno conosciuto Parco Lungo Po è un po’ isolato e offre una vista meravigliosa del Castello Medioevale e del fiume. Vi si trova una grande varietà di alberi, un percorso ciclabile, un’area giochi, diversi campi da tennis distribuiti nell’area, molto spazio per i pic-nic e un enorme vecchio albero su cui ci si può arrampicare.

Along with its amazing view, you can see all the activities that Parco Valentino (across the river) has to offer! Such as kayaking, canoeing, bars, restaurants, bike rental, boat tours, old architecture, fishing, a restructured castle, the fountain of the 4 seasons, and much more. Parco Valentino is considered the “Lungs” of the city and contains more than 500,000 meters squared of land, making the list of the “Largest Parks in Europe”. It’s a must see for any visit to Turin!

Lungo la riva è possibile ammirare la bellezza del fiume e quanto il Parco del Valentino offre dall’altro lato del fiume: scuole di canoa e kayak, bar, ristoranti, noleggio bici, servizio di trasporto con il battello sul fiume, antiche architetture del castello medioevale ristrutturato, la fontana delle 4 Stagioni, e molto altro. Il Parco del Valentino è considerato il “polmone” della città e con i suoi 500.000 metri quadrati di superficie è uno dei parchi piu’ grandi d’Europa. E’ un “must” per chi viene a visitare Torino!
