Afraid of the Dark
' Most photographers fear and avoid shadows on the face!'
During the spring and fall months, the sun shines over a neighbouring building and in through the office window directly. No other time of the year does this occur, in the winter the sun is too low to overtake the building and in the summer it’s too high up to reach the window. The light is so bright I usually lower the curtains to cut down on the light enough just to see the computer screen!
Here are some portraits I captured the other day while experimenting with the hard light that was coming in. I love how they turned out, very moody and editorial. The great thing about experimenting is you can find out more about a medium and learn to use that to your advantage! Enjoy!
