Post 31: Gold - A Colour Story
"A Color Story" is a collaboration project involving photographers from around the world. Each month we search for a different colour, photograph it and turn it into a collage.
“Storia di Colori” è un progetto in collaborazione che coinvolge fotografi di tutto il mondo. Ogni mese viene definito un colore differente che diventa la base delle foto da realizzare per comporre un collage.
Gold:
In it’s purest form gold is bright, dense, soft and malleable. The metal occurs naturally as nuggets or grains, in veins and in alluvial deposits.
Gold strongly reflects yellow and red light, which is why we see its distinct colour combination.
Gold has been used to make jewelry, currency and medicine throughout history.
A metallic paint that glitters is not a true gold colour but can be referred to as golden. The first recorded use of the word golden was in the 1300’s when referring to the element.
The colour gold ranges in shades and tones, from a yellow –orange colour to a green-brown colour.
The goldfish was one of the earliest domesticated fish. The golden retriever dog is a very popular in North America and is said to be the ideal companion dog, many are used as service dogs.
A golden lion was the symbol of the British Empire and is used on the United Kingdoms coat of arms.
Gold represents greed, power, status, luxury, wealth, beauty, love, courage, magic and glamour.

Oro:
Nella sua forma più pura l’oro è luminoso, solido ma morbido e malleabile. Il metallo si trova in natura sotto forma di pepite o granelli, in giacimenti e in depositi alluvionali.
L’oro è di colore giallo e rosso poiché sono queste le frequenze della luce che riflette maggiormente.
Nella storia è sempre stato utilizzato per creare gioielli, come moneta e nella medicina.
Una vernice metallizzata che luccica non contiene oro ma viene definita come dorata. La parola “dorato” viene documentata per la prima volta nel XIII secolo in riferimento al metallo.
Il colore oro varia in tonailtà dal giallo-arancio al verde-marrone.
Il Goldfish (pesce rosso) è stato uno dei primi pesci adottati nelle abitazioni. Il Golden-Retriever è una razza di cane molto diffuso in nell’America del nord, considerato il compagno ideale dell’uomo.
Il simbolo dell’impero Britannico era un leone d’oro ed è ancora oggi utilizzato come emblema del Regno Unito.
L’oro rappresenta avidità, potere, status, lussuria, ricchezza, bellezza, amore, coraggio, magia e fascino.
